An island to visit with Anamore Yachting - Korčula

July 04 2016 | 2 comments

The Croatian island of Korčula is situated in the central Dalmatian archipelago of the Adriatic Sea and covers an approximately area of 280 km², has a length of 47 km and is on average 8 km wide. With more than 15000 inhabitants, it is the second most populated Adriatic island after the island of Krk.

The main settlements on the island are the towns of Korčula, Vela Luka and Blato. Amongst these, serveral little villages are spread along the island and are connected via the main road. As a sailor it is a lot easier to get around and find great anchorages and moorings for your Anamore yacht along the island’s coast and at several well equipped marinas.
Known for its beautiful old town the city of Korcula is a must see. Don’t be surprised, that due to the easy access many tourists from the mainland and cruise ships might have the same idea. Try to use the early morning or evening hours for your "less busy" town visit. Otherwise the island has a lot to offer from prestigious beaches, shady pine forests to the mud baths for wellbeing of body and soul.
