Grapes harvest and wine making in Croatia

October 10 2016 | 1 comments

Autumn has arrived and the grapes are ready to be harvested. Just thinking about a good bottle of wine, some delicious cheese and freshly baked bread is mouth-watering. Well, Croatia has a big wine history, which is dating back to the Greek settlers and started about 2500 years ago. They were producing wine on the southern Dalmatian islands of Hvar, Korčula and Vis. Maybe you haven been there on your Anamore Yachting charter? Nowadays modern wine production methods have been introduced to meet the temporary taste, even it is still a lovely and actually a quite romantic sight to see the wine makers on their fields during harvest time. A big thank you for some of the photos Sandra T.
